The Embassy of Canada in Athens would like to bring to your attention a Global Education Challenge opportunity that your students might be interested in participating:
The Education Team of the Canadian company Convergence Tech, a digital transformation company and leader in blockchain tecnology, is inviting High School, College and University students from all over the world to participate in their Global Education Challenge– ‘Embracing digital education for all’.
Student groups will tackle challenges related to UN SDG Goal 4 – Quality Education. The challenge aims to create solutions to address online education, mental health, digital wellness, equality, diversity and much more. As with their previous community engagements, they hope to present these solutions to governments, policy makers and the education sector globally to explore new and innovative ideas to enable education access for all. More details at digitalinclusionchallenge.org.
Convergence’s board and committee is held in high esteem and made up of representation from Canada, USA, Brazil, Panama, the UK, USA, Ireland, Finland, Germany, Netherlands, UAE, Philippines, Jordan, Sri Lanka, Australia & Singapore. They are also honored to have the support of NGOs such as the World Bank, UNICEF, IDRC, WFP and UNHCR.
Building on their Challenge Statement, teams will identify a problem and have 10 days to create a solution before presenting it to the judges. These presentations will be judged by an esteemed panel of industry leaders and experts. Generous sponsorships are provided by two major Canadian banks, TD Bank and CIBC, who will kindly sponsor 2nd and 3rd place prizes of CAD $7,500 and CAD $5,000 respectively. First prize winners will be awarded CAD $10,000.
Convergence is hoping to attract team sizes of 4-6 students from across the world. Please note that they value diversity of the team composition to gain a range of insights. The Challenge will take place virtually this year and is completely free to enter.
