The call has undergone extensive updates from the previous years, in an effort to facilitate the participation of organisations from a wider number of Member States and to improve the overall process. This evolved Programme is also more aligned to EFSA Strategy 2027 and the provisions in the new Transparency Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2019/1381).
The main change is that both hosting sites and fellows will be selected under the same call, i.e. applications will now be made by a consortium of two article 36 organisations from two different MS, Norway or Iceland:
EFSA’s contribution for each grant for each fellow is based on a fixed amount of € 55,000. This amount is intended to support the costs incurred by both organisations: release of a staff member for one year to follow the training (while he/she remains a staff member), design and implementation of the work programme (including supervision), administrative costs, etc.
More information can be found in the summary attached, as well as in EFSA’s dedicated webspace and, of course, in the call itself, referring to the `Call for proposals and guide for applicants` document (available under the link above).
An info session on this Call has been scheduled on 15th December 2021. To participate, please contact your national Focal Point.
Thank you for disseminating the information about this call among your colleagues within your organisation and possibly other Art.36 List organisations, also to network for applying as a consortium. EFSA national Focal Point in your country may also support you in this effort (e.g. with contacts, for more see also here).
Thank you in advance for your collaboration, in the particular also for further dissemination of this information within your organisation. You may like to promote the this open grant call via social media, e.g. by sharing EFSA’s posts at LinkedIn and Twitter, tagging #FoodSafety, #RiskAssessment and #EFSAFellowship.
Best regards,
Martina
